Durban born and bred public relations practitioner, Nolwazi Magwaza, joined Versfeld & Associates in 2012 as an intern after graduating with a National Diploma in Public Relations Management from DUT. After completing her internship (including an extension of her contract) she left in 2014 to take up a full time post at the Magnet Group of Companies as a Market Researcher. That same year she joined East Coast Radio as a Radio Presenter and presented on air until April 2017. In 2015 she joined Anzomode (Pty) Ltd as a Public Relations Executive focusing on mainly Unilever brands.
In April 2017 she joined Versfeld & Associates as a full-time PR executive. Central to this was the vision to eventually start a small PR consultancy, with the support and mentorship from Sharlene. The rest, as they say is history.
In 2012, in an extraordinary show of strength and dedication, Nolwazi embarked on a journey from Durban to Cape Town along the coastline , to help raise funds and awareness for those diagnosed with Autism. She, along with seven other walkers including a close friend with Aspergers (a form of Autism), took two months and ten days through tough terrain – crossing rivers and lagoons, and climbing cliff faces to reach their goal. She hopes one day to write a book about this experience. It was through this that Nolwazi met Sharlene, who was doing the PR for the event.
Nolwazi’s other passion is radio and she is currently a presenter on Gagasi FM on Sunday 2pm- 6pm. Within her busy schedule, she still manages to MC at a variety of events and is a sought-after voice-over artist.
In November 2018 Nolwazi was appointed to the African Art Centre Board of Directors.
A self-confessed extrovert, who is constantly on the go, Nolwazi is passionate about the PR industry, along with other related industries, such as Marketing and Advertising and has since starting her studies, dreamt of eventually owning her own PR consultancy – Memeza is a realization of this goal.
